Grey Crowned Crane

It has distinct white cheeks and a bright red pouch under its chin. Its body is mostly grey, with wings made of black, white, and warm gold colors. Unlike most cranes, this bird can roost and sleep high up in trees. It has a special extra-long toe that helps it grab onto branches. It is the official national bird of Uganda. These birds are famous for doing beautiful, energetic courtship dances. They bow, jump high into the air, and flap their wings to impress a partner.
