Dragon Chōzu-ya / Temizu-ya (手水舎) Zuihoden Mausoleum

Description

This photograph I captured on my winter (冬 Fuyu) sojourn in Japan 2016 of the Dragon Chōzu-ya / Temizu-ya (手水舎) which is located at front entrance of the gorgeously adorned and decorated Zuihōden (瑞鳳殿) Mausoleum Complex of Date Masamune and his heirs, daimyō of the Sendai Domain. (Note: At the entrance of Japanese Shinto shrines, you'll find a water fountain like structure that has ladles made out of bamboo or wood laid out on it. It's called a Chōzu-ya / Temizu-ya (手水舎), and the whole point of it is to clean and purify your body by washing your hands and your mouth) Nikon COOLPIX P900, Aperture f/4.5, ISO 400, Shutter 10/150, Focal Length 268/10.
